Living a Good Life Church

A Ministry for Cultural Secessionists

We Do Not Participate.

We seek truth, beauty, and excellence.

We are in the midst of civilizational ruin, and it has been intentionally wrought. Our task as dissidents in this Fourth Turning is to lead.

Resist Lies – Speak Truth – Be Brave

Our church is an intentional gathering for rational dissidents who want to build the Retro-culture, an authoritative community based on common sense. We practice cultural secession because we feel like strangers in our own lands that are increasingly dominated by people who are not advancing ideas and ways of being that sustain healthy communities. We are with the reactionary common-sense counter-cultural revolution.

We question conventional wisdom.

We worship common sense.

Common sense must prevail.

Living a Good Life Church is open to everyone who believes there is absolute truth (Logos) that can be discovered by observing the laws of nature. Logos is objective truth that can be discovered and understood by anyone who fervently seeks it because truth exists in reality. Logos is the key pillar of Western Civilization. Common sense is the transcendent knowledge we gain from observing how people successfully consent to the laws of nature.

We are engaging in a spiritual counter-assault against the occupying forces of darkness – artificiality, consumerism, corporatism, equity, globalism, moral relativism, postmodern nihilism, social constructionism, and uniformity. We are doing battle with deviance, dysfunction, and degeneracy. We build capacity for health, happiness, and holiness.

We build community to prevent social isolation.

We help people find meaning and make sense of the world.

We alleviate existential anxiety.

We help people find peace to prevent frustration and anger.

Our views are rooted in the long-standing conservative Christian Deistic tradition of American founders Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, and later American notables like Ralph Waldo Emerson. Christian Deism is experiencing a revival in the West among people who embrace the boundaries and the rituals of orthodox faiths like Roman Catholicism but reject many of the fundamentals of those established religions.

We believe:

  • there is one clockmaker God who began the world but does not intervene in the natural order of the universe, the doctrine of Intelligent Design. God does not choose people because they proclaim their own specialness or their belief in him. He does not provide favors for people who do good or who pray to him.
  • God is Logos (truth).
  • people should lead holy lives, not because they fear God, but because it is right and just to do so. Leading holy lives makes communities flourish, which leads to individual happiness.
  • the life and teachings of Jesus Christ establish the ultimate model for living one’s own life. Jesus should not be worshipped, he should be followed. Jesus is not a drug, he is an illumination.
  • reason, rational thought, science, and philosophy coincide with belief in God.
  • humans have the capacity to exert free will in a responsible, constructive, and ethical manner with the aid of religion.
  • human nature in its present condition is not inherently corrupt but capable of both good and evil, as God intended.
  • the holy spirit is a real psychological phenomenon that has been inculcated by one’s close emotional experience with holiness that he necessarily shares with another human being.

This church is for people who want to belong to something invigorating and new, but who wish to honor the natural understandings, laws, and boundaries that have been reinforced by historical Christianity. Please review the About, How We Try to Live Good Lives, and The Commitment pages for more about our beliefs.

If you are already connected to a Christian church, by all means stay with it and thrive. Make it better.

If you are unchurched and looking for a spiritual home, you might want to give us a try. We would love to have you join us.

Rev Kev is also a proponent of the Authentic Happiness approach which can be viewed as a secular-spiritual path to human flourishing. He received his pastoral training in the Authentic Happiness Coaching Program, and has advanced that approach by balancing the happiness underpinnings of positive psychology with traditional understandings of human flourishing. Rev Kev is an ordained minister with the Universal Life Ministry.

Rev Kev is available to speak at your community organization or professional conference. The workshop, “I do not Participate – Building the Reactionary Retroculture” can be tailored for different audiences. His new book, Living a Good Life: Cultural Secession and Nation Building for Men and Women of the West, is a roadmap for reinvigorating what is left of the American Nation by improving the health and mental health of our people.

Living a Good Life Church is not associated with any other church or denomination. We have derived our formal doctrine and discipline from a combination of unitarian Christian, trinitarian Christian, and non-Christian spiritual traditions, classical philosophy, western folk psychology, and honest contemporary social sciences, including moral psychology and positive psychology. The amalgam of these sources of wisdom is our creed.

We battle pessimism and propaganda with hope and truth.

Our ritual includes hearing wisdom, reflection, sharing personal challenges and joys, witnessing, encouragement, and accountability.

We are forming a steering committee now to help shape the church.

Rev Kev has a new book available! Living a Good Life: Cultural Secession and nation building for men and women of the West.

“One thing men are responsible for is bringing order to the world. They don’t always succeed, but it must be their duty to make the effort, and it’s not wise to distract them with histrionics when they attempt to do that, or shame them for trying. You are not excused from your duty in any case, American men. It’s not okay to pretend to be women to escape your duty. The women must not allow the men to hide among them and pretend to be them. They must insist that you be men.

One of your duties as men is to oppose false realities to preserve meaning, and you do that first by insisting on being upright yourself and speaking of things as they really are so that you can do with them what you must do. And this is the meaning of authority, which has been submerged in the flood we’re riding on, this flood of false realities drowning the meaning of everything.” – Jim Kunstler

We are being purposefully overwhelmed by false inputs. Our enemy’s strategy is to serve us truth salted with lies. This is meant to intimidate, keep us off solid ground, and psych us out so we lose without a fight. Exposing yourself to popular culture and current events reported by the media is the death of your intellect. Although we need sources to educate ourselves, we must eliminate everything we can, for what we ignore has become more critical than what we read.” – Robert Yoho, M.D.

“For those of us who wish to help return sanity to an insane world, the first step is to bring order to our own minds and to live in a way that provides inspiration for others to follow.

It is not for nothing that our age cries out for the Redeemer Personality, for the one who can emancipate himself from the grip of the collective psychosis, and save at least his own soul, who lights a beacon of hope for others, proclaiming that here is at least one man, who has succeeded in extricating himself from the fatal identity with the group psyche.” Carl Jung

“Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, one by one.” Charles Mackay

“America, it is said, is suffering from intolerance-it is not. It is suffering from tolerance. Tolerance of right and wrong, truth and error, virtue and evil, Christ and chaos. Our country is not nearly so overrun with the bigoted as it is overrun with the broadminded.” Monsignor Fulton J. Sheen

“Here in America we are descended in blood and in spirit from revolutionists and rebels – men and women who dare to dissent from accepted doctrine. As their heirs, may we never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion.” Dwight D. Eisenhower

Since at least the 1960s, a war of increasingly global significance has been waged against human ‘primary ties’: the traditional family bond, faith, homeland, culture, and ethnicity. This aggression has been waged by a confluence of hostile groups including oligarchs and financiers, dysfunctional types who both promote and excel in filth and decay, and ethnic cliques motivated by extreme racial enmity. Connecting these various groups are a host of security agencies, NGOs, and technocrats, resulting in a bewildering swirl of attack points and subterfuge. If the Western peoples and their culture are locked in conflict, we are witnessing not a straightforward duel but a hyena attack. Faced with a large opponent, these hostile groups move simultaneously to both run the West to exhaustion and to tear chunks from its vital blood vessels. It is difficult indeed to find clarity in the middle of such a storm. ……. – Andrew Joyce

“Let not any one pacify his conscience by the delusion that he can do no harm if he takes no part, and forms no opinion. Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing. He is not a good man who, without a protest, allows wrong to be committed in his name, and with the means which he helps to supply, because he will not trouble himself to use his mind on the subject.” – John Stuart Mill
